Domaine Pignier
One of the few wine producing domaines left in the small village of Montaigu in the southern part of the Jura in France. They have been practicing organic and biodynamic farming since the late 1990s.
Location: Cheilly-lès-Maranges, France
Situated in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, The Chevrot family has been making wine in Les Maranges since 1830. Today, the two brothers Pablo and Vincent Chevrot run the show, and they are combining old school techniques with a modern mindset to produce fresh, lively and balanced wines.
Healthy soil is key for the brothers, and they believe that a hands-off approach with minimal machinery and no chemical interference in both the vineyard and in the cellar is the only way to reach a result that truly express the unique terroir of Les Maranges.
Fun fact: Les Maranges gained its own appellation in 1988 – before that it was simply classified as a Côte de Beaune.
