Domaine de la Borde / Julien Marechal
Without question one of the most interesting domaines from the coveted region of Jura. Julien Marechal studied in Burgundy for a period of time before turning to the Jura to make wines
Quinta da Costa, today run by couple Miguel and Fillipa, has been in the family for six generations. It is located along the Pinhão River in the heart of the Douro in northern Portugal. The vines are located at altitudes ranging from 200 meters to 450 meters, with exposure to south-east, south, and south-west, all of them planted in slate-heavy soil.
In the seventies and eighties, the grandfather of the Miguel dedicated himself to the reconversion of the vine, expanding the area and mechanizing the vineyard. He decided to keep about three hectares of old vineyard in memory of his ancestors. It is with these old vines that they produce their best wines today.
In 2006, the Quinta passed into the hands of the Miguel, and they have been dedicated to producing the best grapes and, inevitably, the best wine ever since. Respecting tradition and looking forward is are key for QCP, and their wines teel that story.

Eric Dhondt and Edith Grellet founded Domaine Dhondt-Grellet in 1986 after they decided to stop selling their grapes to the negotiants in Champagne. Now, their son Adrien (pictured here) is running the domaine together with his sister, Alice.
Maxime Graillot, a larger-than-life vigneron (and son of legendary winemaker Alain Graillot), has the same innovative and forward-thinking spirit as his father. In 2004, to cement the family’s name in the Northern Rhône, Maxime managed to acquire quite a few vineyards situated in the Beaumont-Monteux commune of Crozes-Hermitage.
