Adega do Vulcão
Gianni Mancassola and Cinzia Caiazzo visited the Azores for the first time in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the extreme landscape and remarkable climate.
Location: France
In the cellar of the family run Domaine Mader located in the heart of Alsace, there is a small sign hanging just below one of the windows saying “Nos vins sont sec” – Our wines are dry. This is a pretty acute statement from Jérôme Mader, who has been running the estate since 2005. They produce an array of ultra lean and suave wines with a touch of exotic fruit from vineyards situated primarily in and around Hunawihr, but also more voluptuous Rieslings and Gewurztraminers from Grand Cru vineyards in Schlossberger and Rosacker. All wines are certified organic. The wines are elegant, and the prices are exceptional.
PS. Hunawihr has been dubbed “The most beautiful village in France” for good reasons.
