Domaine Bornard
From the village of Pupillin, near Arbois, we bring Domaine Bornard, a producer who cultivates around 12.5 hectares of vines between Côtes de Jura and Arbois appellations.
One of the few wine producing domaines left in the small village of Montaigu in the southern part of the Jura in France. The domaine has been family-run for eight generations, and they have been practicing organic and biodynamic farming since the late 1990s. They farm 13 hectares of vine that grow on three separate plots with very different types of soil. The vineyards consist mainly of sandstone and limestone with an enormous amount of fossils from different Jurassic periods.
We feel that their wines are true expressions of the unique terroir in the Jura.

Filippo makes wines with his wife Nancy on the Italian island of Sicily in shadow of the smoldering volcano, Etna. They met in Belgium many years ago while working in the restaunrant industry. Now, they farm around 4ha on a plot of around 20.
This is very much a family business with mom, pops, and the two children doing all the work in both vineyard, cellar, and in the office. Piero Busso is still at the helm of the domaine that he established in the early 1950s.
