Trediberri
Trediberri, literally translating to “the three from Berri”, is run by father-and-son team Federico and Nicola Oberto, together with their good friend Vladimiro.
Location: La Seca, Valladolid, Espanha
The Cantalapiedra family has made wine from several generations in the municipality of La Seca, half an hour southwest of Valladolid in Castilla y Leon; heart of the Rueda appellation. There are records of the Cantalapiedras’ grape-growing dating to the 19th century, but the current version of the domaine can be traced directly to the year 1949, when the grandfather, Heliodoro, planted his first vineyard plot at young age of 15. For many years, Heliodoro’s son Isaac worked alongside him, and together they now farm 20 hectare, all certified organic. In the past they sold the majority of their grapes to the large cooperatives in the area, but since 2014, they have farmed and bottled their own wines at the estate.
The family strives to go beyond organic, and incorporate many biodynamic practices into their viticulture. This is the mindset of a producers that is first and foremost a farmer, and something they take pride in. In the cellar, Manuel uses wild yeasts for fermentation, minimal amounts of sulfur, and no other additions.

While the legendary Domaine Comtes Lafon often steals the spotlight, the Lafon family has been doing exceptional work in the under-appreciated region of Mâconnais in the southern part of Burgundy for more than 20 years.
Quinta da Costa, today run by couple Miguel and Fillipa, has been in the family for six generations. It is located along the Pinhão River in the heart of the Douro in northern Portugal.
