Location: Morey-Saint-Denis, France

Considered one of the best producers in the Côte de Nuits (which means Burgundy, which means the rest of the world). Robert established the domaine in the 1930s, buying fabled vineyards in Bonnes Mares, Chambertin Clos de Bèze and Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses (the biggest single owner of this vineyard), and became famous for making ultra precise and delicate Pinot Noirs that have no apparent comparison outside of Burgundy.

Grandson of Robert, Nicolas Groffier, has been running the estate since 2005, keeping with the tradition of minimal intervention in both the vineyards and in the cellar. Legendary wines that are, unfortunately, difficult to obtain these days.
