Schlossberg is famous for becoming the first certified Grand Cru vineyard in Alsace. The vineyard consists of 30-year-old vines that face south-east on the high slopes in Hunawihr. Whole bunches are pressed into stainless steel where the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation before being aged on a mix of barrels and steel tanks. This is a dry wine that exemplifies what Alsatian Pinot Gris can accomplish.
