Maquete is the talha revival project of two Alentejo winemakers under the modest banner Produções Anónimas, the idea being that the land, not the maker, should sign the wine. In the village of Amareleja they ferment organically-farmed native grapes in 19th-century clay vessels, spontaneously and without additions, in the old Roman manner. Field-blend whites and characterful reds, made the way the region always has.
