Descended from Domaine Parigot de Meloisey in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Sébastien Magnien set up revamped cellars in Meursault in 2003 and now farms some twelve hectares along sustainable lines. His is a refreshingly classical hand: hands-off in the cellar, sparing with new oak, and content to let the terroir do the talking, across whites from the Hautes Côtes, Saint-Romain and Meursault and reds from Volnay and Pommard.
