It’s Colares, which means it boasts an insane wine heritage. No one knows quite how far back it goes, but wine was already being made here in Roman times. Not to mention that the region survived the phylloxera plague.
So while Haja Cortezia may be a small family operation with a family mentality, this winery embodies a proud resilience. Embracing a field blend approach, they cultivate old vines planted with a mixture of varieties, making for a superior quality wine across the board.
